Dr. Kumar serves as a board advisor to OHGA. He is the Managing Director of the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. With over two decades of experience in life sciences research, innovation management, and biotechnology entrepreneurship, he has played a key role in advancing India’s biotech innovation ecosystem.
Dr. Kumar holds a PhD in Biotechnology from the Institute of Microbial Technology and an MBA from the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University. He has previously served in leadership roles at IKP Knowledge Park and the Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre, where he helped incubate biotechnology startups and strengthen innovation networks across academia, industry, and government.
An internationally recognized advocate for biotech innovation and entrepreneurship, Dr. Kumar has mentored numerous startups and contributed to national innovation policy.
